The world leader in hair care products Redken, and Computer Game Publisher Little Orbit announce the success of their hairstyling video game Busy Scissors®. The game released at Christmas for the Nintendo Wii and DS and has sold over 100,000 copies worldwide in its first quarter.

"The response from the public has been great", said Matthew Scott CEO , Little Orbit, "and it proves without any doubt that there is a large audience of unique gamers who appreciate innovation."

Busy Scissors® is an industry first – When Redken teamed up with Little Orbit to develop a video game, they wanted a product that allowed players to take on the role of a salon professional. They asked Little Orbit for a game where players could color, shampoo, cut, blow dry, and style hair using all the latest hair products and styling tools.

In Busy Scissors stylists build their reputation and advance their career in a Hollywood salon by meeting the demands of their glamorous clientele. Players progresses as they unlock each client’s inner potential while creating for them a unique outward style. The game features the latest hairstyles which players use to progress from novice stylist to salon owner. As well as 4 game modes including quick play and career mode, Busy Scissors is packed with fun mini games from the salon environment.

Manifest Oranj the game’s developer, spent months working with industry experts to emulate the real hair styles used in the game. Each salon technique was demonstrated and filmed by the team, before it was re-created in 3D and designed as a mini-game.
